Concussions

Concussions are a topic that has been at the forefront of discussion not just for soccer, but all sports recently. The Gallatin Soccer Club takes this topic very seriously. The Tennessee State Soccer Association has established concussion policy for its members. In compliance with this policy, GSC requires all Players and/or Parents, Coaches, and Board Members read about the signs and symptoms of a concussion and provide acknowledgement of this. We provide the links below to TSSA Policy 31 (and associated forms) for the benefit of our Parents, Players, and Volunteers.

TSSA Policy 31: Concussions

Concussion Acknowledgement Form – Athlete/Parent/Guardian
Concussion Acknowledgement Form – Coach/Manager/Board Member

Per policy, any player that has to be removed from a game or practice due to suspicion of a concussion cannot return to play until cleared by a physician. This involves providing a completed Return To Play form (link provided below) and following proper Return To Play protocols.

Links for Youth Sports Concussion trainings are provided below. Note, for the NFHS site you will need to create an account, but the actual Concussions class is free. CDC training site is also provided but note, your result is not stored so you would need to re-complete the training if needing to re-print your certificate.
